Golden Oldies
The years they give us are among the greatest gifts of all.
There is something wonderfully special about an old Cavalier. The puppy who once tumbled through the house may now move a little more slowly. The boundless energy of youth may have softened into a gentle stroll, and those mischievous antics may have given way to long afternoons curled up beside you. But while their pace may change, the love of a Cavalier never grows old.
Our senior Cavaliers have earned every grey hair, every slow morning and every comfortable afternoon in the sunshine. They have spent years being our companions, our confidants and, quite simply, part of our families.

Growing Older, Growing More Precious
As Cavaliers enter their senior years, their needs can gradually change. Regular veterinary care becomes increasingly important, while maintaining a healthy weight, appropriate exercise, good nutrition, dental care and regular grooming can all contribute to their comfort and quality of life.
You may notice subtle changes in your older Cavalier. They might sleep more, tire more easily, take longer to get up or become less enthusiastic about activities they once loved. Their senses may also change with age, and some dogs become more sensitive to changes in their environment.
These changes are a natural part of ageing, but they shouldn't simply be dismissed as “old age.” Changes in behaviour, mobility, appetite, thirst or general wellbeing deserve attention and discussion with your veterinarian.
Every Grey Hair Tells a Story
One of the greatest privileges of sharing your life with a Cavalier is watching them grow old.
Their senior years may look different from puppyhood, but they can be every bit as rewarding. With thoughtful care, regular veterinary attention and plenty of love, we can help our older Cavaliers enjoy their golden years with dignity, comfort and happiness. Because eventually, the puppy becomes the veteran.
The mischievous youngster becomes the wise old soul. And the little dog who once followed you everywhere becomes the Cavalier who has walked beside you through so many chapters of your life. Cherish the grey. Celebrate the years. Treasure your golden oldie. After all, puppies may bring us joy, but our old dogs are the treasure at the other end of the rainbow.
